Re: Scrim?

Post by Guest on Thu Jul 31, 2008 9:34 am

I'm going to say no here guys for me. Although I can surf the net the high winds here have pulled down power lines...etc. last night when we were on ICONZ 6 I was getting some serious lag with only 40 ping. Then it kept crashing with power surges. So best I wait till it's settled up here on the coast and make room for someone who can play properly.

Definatly keen to jump in for another round sometime fairy when your lad's and my power issues are sorted Smile

Hey lads cheers for the friendlies good fun!!

in case the crappy pb shit happens

console PB_Security 0
then PB_WriteCfg 1

you guys did well winging it it is a different environment from pubs as you have full control on your ticket bleed.

couple of tips:

We use a Primary/Secondary Squad Leader. BEfore any of our players are allowed to join a server the Primary and Secondary load in first, then everyone else. The first two people per side to join are the Primary and Sec regardless of how many people join your squad. This is advantageous when you want your Primary to go for a push, you can send secondary to a different location and have the option to spawn in on either. If primary dies first he leaves squad and rejoins, secondary becomes primary then when he dies switch back.

We also dont allow everyone to spawn in at once, just the minimal - this preserves/controls how many tickets you lose. eg Alpha SL takes jeep to market. If everyone in the squad delayed spawned (until he reaches his destination safely) you only lose 1 ticket if Alpha SL gets taken down. If you all spawn in for a sunday drive you lose 6 tickets if you die.

I dont know if you guys unlock your frames as well - this helps too and its legit can be turned on at pubs

console renderer.drawfps 1
then game.lockfps 999

try to have your commander in a nice safe location- if he dies you have no intel. have most of the squad spawn in as anti tankers - at rocket at Infantry its an instant ticket loss and they cant be revived.

anyways cheers!! hope to have a few more with yas

Fairy - it was fun, a learning curve for most on our side. I could see you guys must talk heaps. I dont think any of us was on TS.

Thank you for the tips. Great points. Appreciate you teaching us. I am sure we got more out of it than you guys but we'll plan better next time.

Thanks Again

no one talks on teamspeak except for me lol i dont get into the gameplay I sit back and relay every single piece of intel to the two squads and direct where they need to go. This way theres no miscommunication and everyone is well aware of whats going on around them.

Damn, that fps command has revealed to me i'm only averaging about 30 FPS, my comp must be slowing down... Perhaps that's why I've been returning lacklustre scores on pubs just recently O.o; Nawr I'm probably just getting shitter Very Happy

press ~ to bring up console ingame, rendererdraw.fps 1 brings ur fps in red top left hand corner of game, rendererdraw.fps 0 takes it away, game.lockfps (any number here) will unlock your fps to that rate as bf2 is locked down to 100 fps max, even if you cant get that normally, you'll still get a 20-30fps boost or well over 100 if your pc is leet.

Hey ya Fairy, is there a way to put that FPS commad into your init / config file so you don't have to type it in each time? I'm sure I read something to that effect on Iconz but can't find it again.

Seems quite a worth it command, I was peaking at 180 fps.

Alot of games use tilde (~) as a console key, though it's sometimes disabled by default, the console is a command prompt for making realtime changes to the way a game behaves, a developer tool mainly but useful for people looking to optimise the experience and get performance info. (as is being discussed here Smile)
